Junior League women make things happen.

We form strategic partnerships, create innovative programs and raise funds for important community initiatives. We are able to do this because of the skills and experience obtained through membership.
The Junior League of Eugene is a membership based organization that meets regularly to train women, build relationships and execute community service activities and fundraising events. General membership meetings are held every other month September through June. JLE hosts multiple fundraisers throughout the year and puts on community awareness and training events as well.

Our membership consists of women from all backgrounds who have joined to make an impact on the local community. Each member is trained in numerous areas including: volunteering, leadership, fundraising, and project development. The Junior League relies on the support of our members, fundraising, and corporate partners to continue to positively impact our community.

Benefits of Membership

The benefits of membership in the Junior League of Eugene reach further than providing volunteer services to the community. Our members find the training they receive to be one of the most valuable aspects of their membership experience. Members have used skills that they have learned for new careers, personal growth, and for creating new community projects for our League to embrace.

It is true that most of our members join to becoming involved in the community. However, many develop life-long friendships through the connections that they have gained as a result of their involvement with Junior League of Eugene. Members have found this organization to be beneficial – both professionally and personally – by becoming a part of the extensive network of women that comprise our organization.

  • Training for effective community service and leadership including issue awareness, fundraising, public relations, finance, collective impact, advocacy and personal development.
  • Insight into community needs and opportunities to contribute to solutions.
  • Interaction and partnerships with community leaders including the opportunity to sit on community Boards of Directors and committees that make an impact in our community.
  • Exposure to problem solving, communication and the administration of non-profit agencies.
  • New friends and opportunities for continued growth and personal fulfillment.
  • Membership transferability to the more than 290 Junior Leagues throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and England.

Our members are busy women who want to give back to the community. Although the Junior League of Eugene has specific membership requirements, we also recognize the demands of today’s women and believe in flexibility.

Membership Guidelines

Members support the work of the League by contributing their time at membership meetings and volunteer opportunities as well as supporting our work financially through an annual membership fee.

New members are called Provisional members and they must complete one “provisional year” where they become familiar with the League before they are installed as an Active member of the League.

The Provisional Membership program of the Junior League of Eugene is an informed training program. The purpose of the provisional member training is to familiarize provisional members with the functions and goals of the projects, fundraisers, and standing committees in the Junior League of Eugene.

Once a Provisional member has completed the new member requirements and has been installed as an Active member they will, along with all Active members, be assigned to a committee seat that lasts a minimum of one year. This is called a “placement”.

The emphasis on JLE placement is on the development of the member as an individual as well as balancing her need with those of the League. For more information, please refer to committee descriptions on the Junior League of Eugene Committees page.
